2019-05-24

Exhibition: May 24 – June 29, 2019
Venue: Virág Judit Gallery

Fair and exhibition titled as: Post-war Non-Figurative and Abstract Art in a Foreign Private Collection opens at Virág Judit Gallery on May 24, 2019. The exhibition features non-figurative and abstract works by ten Hungarian artists. The core of the carefully and consciously selected collection is paintings by Tihamér Gyarmathy and Tamás Lossonczy, two iconic members of the Abstract Hungarian Artists who later left the European School. The former member of the Iparterv generation, István Nádler is mainly featured by his large scale series from the second half of the nineties combining expressive gesture-painting and geometric forms. Geometric trends are represented with works by Gellért Orosz, Tamás Konok and István Haász. István Harasztÿ’s mobile sculptures and the plaster relief by György Jovánovics presented at the 1994 Venice Biennale will also be on view.
